Rock Hill United Methodist Church

Organized at Grand Bluff (ca. 4 mi. E) in 1887 as a Baptist church, this congregation moved to the new community of Rock Hill and became affiliated with the Methodist Episcopal Church, North, in 1895. Circuit-riding ministers served the church in its early years. A new church building was erected in 1912 on land donated by the I. L. Davidson family. In 1933 the congregation joined the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, and in 1940 moved here, across the road from the 1912 site. Serving Rock Hill and the surrounding area, this congregation includes descendants of original members. Texas Sesquicentennial 1836 - 1986
