The Gallagher House

This Victorian residence was built in 1895 for W. T. Leggett, manager of the Dublin Music Company. The two-story Classical Revival porch was added to the east side of the house in 1907 during the ownership of J. H. Wilder. In 1914 the property was purchased by Michael D. Gallagher (1854-1921), a native of Ireland who owned a local mercantile store. Members of the Gallagher family lived in the house for 35 years. Recorded Texas Historic Landmark - 1980
